Özdemir Ataseven, the owner of Özata Shipyard in Yalova, is known not only for his involvement in shipbuilding but also for his philanthropic efforts. Ataseven inaugurated the Gazibeyli Özdemir Ataseven Primary School in Samsun Bafra through a dedicated ceremony.

The opening ceremony of Gazibeyli Özdemir Ataseven Primary School in Samsun Bafra took place. The school, constructed by Özdemir Ataseven, the Chairman of the Board of Özata Shipyard in Yalova, was officially opened with a ceremony.

The opening ceremony of Gazibeyli Özdemir Ataseven Primary School in Samsun Bafra was attended by Özata Shipyard Board Chairman Özdemir Atasever, acting on behalf of Bafra Governor Alaçam Governor Oğuz Alp Çağlar, Bafra Mayor Zihni Şahin, Bafra District Director of National Education Mehmet Ali Katipoğlu, Botaş Deputy General Manager Kerim Taşkıran, AK Party Bafra District Chairman Tuncay Yurduseven, Gazibeyli Village Head Bayram Koparan, numerous citizens, teachers, and students. After the observance of a moment of silence and the recitation of the National Anthem, speeches followed.

Firstly, Gazibeyli Village Head Bayram Koparan delivered a speech. In his speech, Koparan expressed gratitude to Governor Halis Arslan, Mayor Zihni Şahin, District Director of National Education Mehmet Ali Katipoğlu, and especially businessman Özdemir Ataseven for their contributions to the school’s renovation.

Following Koparan, businessman Özdemir Ataseven, the Chairman of the Board of Özata Shipyard, addressed the audience. Starting his speech with, “Our village may not be as crowded as it used to be, but it is still lively thanks to God. It knows how to host its guests,” Özdemir Ataseven continued, “Some may say you built a school, but the number of students is low. This school might produce a general manager, a mayor, a prime minister, or even a president. They could lead the country into a new era, serve the remotest corners of our homeland, and become valuable individuals. The quantity doesn’t matter; what matters is the quality. It doesn’t matter how many fruits you get from the garden; what matters is the quality. That’s why we look at these children with that perspective. Therefore, I promise that we will try to provide everything available in the infrastructure of modern schools in this school.”

Subsequently, District Director of National Education Mehmet Ali Katipoğlu took the podium and expressed his appreciation for this service that serves as an example to businessmen living both inside and outside our city. He said, “Today, we are making the opening of a beautiful nest again offered to us for the better education of students. The students who studied here had difficulties in winter due to their commute. In this sense, this school needed renovation. When our village head Bayram Koparan came to us with a beautiful proposal, we were very pleased. In this regard, I thank our esteemed businessman Özdemir Ataseven.”

Bafra Mayor Zihni Şahin expressed his joy in being together at a beautiful opening, saying, “These beautiful services provided by our esteemed businessmen in Bafra excite and make us proud. I congratulate them on behalf of Bafra, and I thank Mr. Özdemir a lot. I hope our school in Gazibeyli Neighborhood will be beneficial for our district and our country. I wish abundant earnings to all our philanthropic businessmen.”

Finally, Alaçam Governor Oğuz Alp Çağlar delivered a speech. Mentioning that they turn to philanthropic citizens when they have difficulties, Governor Çağlar said, “This auspicious deed of the Ataseven family for their village really made us happy. This situation will serve as an example to businessmen with good intentions. Public resources can only be used to a certain extent; when we try to do additional work, we look to our philanthropic businessmen. We knock on their doors, and we receive positive responses from many. Everyone is pleased to contribute to our children, education, and our homeland. Your school is entrusted to you. I thank everyone who contributed once again.” After the speeches, the kindergarten student Resul Bayrak recited the National Anthem. Following the reading of the poem “BAYRAK” (Flag) by 4th-grade students, the ribbon-cutting ceremony took place. At the end of the program, plaques prepared by the Gazibeyli Neighborhood Headship were presented to the recipients, including Özata Board Chairman Özdemir Ataseven.
